PORTLAND, Ore., May 31, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- CareHere, a national manager of on-site/near site health and wellness medical clinics, has opened its 200th health center, this one in the Portland, Oregon, headquarters of Daimler Trucks North America. The center will provide health and wellness services for employees – and their dependents -- of the North American truck and bus manufacturer.
"We're honored to have been chosen by Daimler Trucks to bring the convenience of on-site primary and preventative medical care to Daimler employees and their families, while helping the company save significant healthcare dollars," said Ernie Clevenger, CareHere CEO. "The fact that it's our 200th center speaks volumes to how strongly American businesses and healthcare consumers have embraced the concept of providing cost-effective and high-quality primary care at an on-site medical center. We're pleased to have such an impact on lowering the cost of care to payors, increasing access to care for patients and returning the enjoyment of care to medical providers over the last twelve years."
Founded in 2004 by Clevenger and Chief Operating Officer Ben Baker, CareHere focuses on prevention and wellness for employees, offering primary medical care, risk assessments, physicals and wellness/prevention programs and the management of chronic conditions, all delivered near or in the buildings where employees work. The firm's clients include corporations, manufacturers, businesses, school systems and local/state governments.
The CareHere clinic will enable Daimler employees to schedule their appointment electronically at their most beneficial times, eliminating waits for medical attention. CareHere's average wait time for medical care is less than 5 minutes nationally. Other on-site services include a pharmaceutical dispensary, lab services, wellness plans and coaching with access to a registered dietitian, registered nurse, exercise coach and behavioral health coach. Additional benefits to employees include no co-pay or deductibles.
In a statement celebrating the health center's opening, Daimler Trucks North America said, "We are excited to partner with CareHere as they help us bring the best and latest in quality, convenient primary healthcare to our employees. They have an outstanding track record in lowering healthcare costs to companies, managing revenue effectively and reducing an employee's time away from work when healthcare is needed. They're great at what they do."
The 2,780-square-foot health and wellness center will house eight exam rooms. Staffing will consist of three physicians, two nurses, a nurse practitioner and a care coordinator.
In conjunction with the opening ceremonies, CareHere executives announced a special donation of $1,000 to the St. Christopher Truckers Development and Relief Fund, a truck driver charity that helps semi-truck drivers whose medical problems have led to financial hardships.
