SAN DIEGO, Aug. 24, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- President Michael Caroff built and began marketing his first website in 1995, when many people were not even aware of the Web, and the term "Search Engine Optimization" (SEO) had not yet been invented.
"It was quite a bit simpler back then," Caroff explains. "I learned HTML coding in a day from a tutorial I downloaded." His 8-year tenure as editor of Fender's Frontline magazine came in handy as well, giving him a background in employing text and graphics to engage a viewing audience.
Currently, Caroff Communications consists of a core team of a dozen writers, programmers, production people, marketing specialists, and designers -- in addition to numerous contractors brought in for specific projects.
Though the company's been around for 20 years, the tagline, "Websites and SEO that Rock," is less than 2 years old. It sprang from the fact that Caroff fronts the nation's premiere Santana tribute band, called Savor. The band has been performing at casinos, county fairs, summer concerts, and other venues, since 2003.
"Only recently have I begun to even mention the band in business situations," says Caroff. "I used to keep the two worlds very separate, because my feeling was that no one wanted a musician to do their online marketing!"
But after receiving advice from several colleagues, including a neighboring marketing and branding specialist, Caroff changed his tune.
The positive feedback he has received since he incorporated the band into his company's marketing has reinforced the decision to make his "2nd career" as a guitar player a focus of the Caroff Communications brand.
Located in San Diego, California, the company specializes in user-friendly responsive websites. And as a Google partner company, they provide expert level SEO and PPC marketing. Their clients range from local service providers like attorneys, medical clinics, and realtors and mortgage brokers, to national companies in the tech, retail, and manufacturing fields.
