Cascade Terrace Nursing and Rehabilitation Center Earns a Five-Star Quality Rating

PORTLAND, Ore., Sept. 13 /PRNewswire/ -- Prestige Care, a provider of quality senior care, is pleased to announce that its Cascade Terrace Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Portland earned a five-star rating under the Five Star Quality Rating System conducted by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).

The Five Star Quality Rating System helps residents, families and caregivers evaluate the level of quality care provided by nursing and rehabilitation communities.  A community's rating, ranging from one to five stars, is determined by a combination of scores that consider safety, past health inspection results, caregiver and staffing data, as well as various quality measures.

To be eligible for the quality rating system, communities must meet more than 180 regulatory care standards.  The five-star system encourages transparency among nursing and rehabilitation communities as the evaluation process sheds light on a wide range of the community's operations.  

The rating system also allows consumers to compare the health and safety inspection results of varying communities or track the improvements a particular community has made over time.

Cascade Terrace is one of several Prestige Care nursing and rehabilitation centers to recently earn high ratings.  Creswell Health and Rehabilitation Center in Creswell, Ore. also received the Five Star rating, in addition to three other Oregon Prestige Care communities that recently earned top honors from the American Health Care Association and National Center for Assisted Living.
