Casimir Capital L.P. Launches Research Division

NEW YORK, May 3 /PRNewswire/ -- Casimir Capital L.P., a leading investment bank and North American specialist in commodities and mining, officially announced today the launch of its Research Division. The new research arm will be run under the leadership of Managing Director R. Wayne Atwell, a 35 year industry veteran.  Mr. Atwell and his team will be regularly producing sector wide analysis reports, as well as coverage of individual companies in the commodities and mining sectors.  Mr. Atwell's group has initiated coverage on the following companies: Lake Shore Gold Corporation (LSG), Western Copper Corporation (WRN), Timmins Gold Corporation (TNN), and Brazauro Resources Corporation (BZO).

Casimir's Research Division primarily will provide coverage of small to mid-cap companies in , North America, South America and Australia.  Analysis will be based on both an economic view of each company, as well as in-person visits to mines, mills and corporate headquarters.  

JC Stamler, Casimir's Head of Institutional Sales, will be responsible for the marketing and distribution of the research to a variety of buy-side clientele.

Mr. Atwell joins Casimir Capital after serving as a Managing Director at Morgan Stanley as a Global Group Team Leader in the mining and metals space.  At Morgan Stanley, Mr. Atwell led a 12 person team of global analysts.  Prior to joining Morgan Stanley, Mr. Atwell was a Vice President at Goldman Sachs, where he also covered mining and metals.  He has also been selected several times as one of the ten best buy side stock pickers by Institutional Investor magazine.  For more than 20 years, Institutional Investor also has rated Mr. Atwell as one of the top analysts in metals and mining.
