Casio G-SHOCK Releases iPhone Compatible G-Mix Series

DOVER, N.J., Sept. 23, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Casio G-SHOCK releases a technologically advanced timepiece, the G'Mix Rotary Switch BLE, GBA400, designed with a new rotary switch that enhances the music listening experience. The G-SHOCK GBA-400 watch offers a variety of ways to enjoy music by pairing with a smartphone, such as setting audio controls, adding live effects that simulate concert sound and identifying the names of songs from music playing nearby^*1.

The new G-SHOCK GBA-400 watch supports Bluetooth^® Smart connectivity and offers greatly enhanced features for enjoying music^*2 when paired with G'MIX App, a new music app for smartphones that can control audio settings, add live effects that simulate concert sound, and identify the names of songs from music playing nearby and then display the song title on the digital display^*3 of the G-SHOCK watch. Song identification can be triggered remotely by turning the rotary switch on the watch, without having to touch the smartphone. By operating the watch buttons, the user can trigger preset or customized tones on a paired smartphone—just one of the ways the watch enables users to play with sound and enjoy listening to and identifying music.

Once connected with a smartphone and control mode has been selected, the rotary switch acts as a navigational tool allowing individuals to scroll through songs with the flick of a dial. In addition, the dial doubles as a volume control and sound effect modifier. The timepiece is designed with preset capabilities – to control equalizer and sound effects that are arranged and customized by the user via the G'MIX App created specifically for G-SHOCK. The rotary switch acts as a tool to change these presets while simultaneously listening to music.

The GBA400 provides standard G-SHOCK features such as Shock Resistance and 200M Water Resistance. A rich feature set consisting of Super Illuminator LED, World Time (100 Cities + UTC), 5 Daily Alarms (1SNZ), 1/100^th Sec Stop Watch, 1/10^th Sec. Countdown Time, 12/24 hr formats and Mute Function with a 51.9mm case size.  And with all this functionality, the watch comes with an exceptional 2-year battery life.

The GBA400 is also supplied with music control (music playing and music playback mode) and Time Sync (Manual and Automatic once/day) capabilities. With the ability to adapt to the functions of a smartphone^*4, the GBA400 is suited with Phone Finder. These upgrades are instrumental in the music elevation of the G-SHOCK watch. Using the rotary switch, the function presents easy navigation through multiple settings – basic and supplementary.
