Casio G-SHOCK Unveils Limited-edition Connected MR-G Timepiece With Unique Back Engraving
Premium Watch Engraved with Japanese Characters for "Gravity"
DOVER, N.J., Jan. 24, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- Today, Casio G-SHOCK announces the latest edition to its luxury MR-G line up of men's watches. Created to be the epitome of luxury and toughness, the new MRGG2000RJ-2A boasts a functional Dura Soft Fluoro-Rubber band in an all-new, deep violet color, which provides both durability and comfort. The watch also features a custom back inscription of the Japanese characters for "Jyuryokumaru" (meaning "gravity"), which are hand engraved by renown sword smith, Teruhira Kamiyama.
The latest model showcases the MR-G line's signature features to give it a tough, yet sleek design that can elevate any winter look. It has an all-titanium case, back cover and clasp which have undergone a deep-hardening treatment to make it five times harder than regular titanium. It also has a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal with an inner coating, which enhances its overall clarity and readability.
The MRGG2000RJ-2A bezel is created from Murasaki-gane metal and Cobarion; premium materials that make the bezel two or three times stronger than stainless steel. The deep violet Arc Ion Plating (AIP) also gives the metal a mirror-like, purple finish to complete its sleek style.
In addition, the new watch offers G-SHOCK's three-way time sync for accurate time keeping. This is made possible through Bluetooth® connectivity, GPS satellite signal reception and Multi-Band 6 technology, which are signature technical capabilities within G-SHOCK's premium models. The watch also features Tough Solar technology that provides self-charging capabilities.
The timepiece comes equipped with standard G-SHOCK technology features which include:
- 200M water resistance and shock resistance
- World time
- Daily alarm
- Countdown timer
- Automatic Date Update
- Airplane Mode
- Super Illuminator LED light
- Full auto calendar
- Countdown timer
- Day/date display
The MRGG2000RJ-2A will be available for $4,300, starting this February at selected high-end Jewelers and the G-SHOCK Soho store.
About G-SHOCK
CASIO's shock-resistant G-SHOCK watch is synonymous with toughness, born from the developer Mr. Ibe's dream of 'creating a watch that never breaks.' Over 200 handmade samples were created and tested to destruction until finally in 1983 the first, now iconic G-SHOCK hit the streets of Japan and began to establish itself as 'the toughest watch of all time.' Each watch encompasses the 7 elements; electric shock resistance, gravity resistance, low temperature resistance, vibration resistance, water resistance, shock resistance and toughness. The watch is packed with Casio innovations and technologies to prevent it from suffering direct shock; this includes internal components protected with urethane and suspended timekeeping modules inside the watch structure. Since its launch, G-SHOCK has continued to evolve, continuing to support on Mr. Ibe's mantra "never, never give up." www.gshock.com
