The Jay, Okla., resident won the Forrest Wood Cup and the Ranger M1 Millennium in 1999, the latter offering $600,000 – the richest purse in the sport at the time. Surman, who resides in Boca Raton, Fla., has fished the FLW Tour for 15 years, qualified for the Forrest Wood Cup five times and earned 18 top-10 finishes in FLW Outdoors competition.
