CB&I Recognized with Multiple 2024 STI/SPFA Safety and Tank of the Year Awards

THE WOODLANDS, Texas, March 11, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- The Steel Tank Institute/Steel Plate Fabricators Association (STI/SPFA) presented CB&I with five safety awards and three field-erected Tank of the Year awards during its recent annual meeting held in Hilton Head, SC. STI/SPFA is a non-profit trade association whose member companies fabricate steel tanks, pipe, and pressure vessels for use across various industries.

The association presents safety awards each year to acknowledge the highest achievements of member companies engaged in shop fabrication, inspection, maintenance, and field construction. Two of our business units were awarded Safety Awards of Excellence for achieving a safety record with zero OSHA Recordable Incidents in 2024. Three of our business units were awarded 2024 Safety Awards of Achievement for accomplishing a minimum 10% reduction in their rate of OSHA Recordable Incidents, as compared with their average rate for the prior three years.

CB&I was also awarded Tank of the Year in three of the eight field-erected categories for 2024:

• ASME – Four 87'-9" diameter (60,000 BBL) X 290 psi LPG spheres in the Dominican Republic
• API 620 – 12-million-gallon double-wall, single-containment LNG tank in Ixonia, WI
• Repair and Modification – Dismantling and re-erection of two 75'-5" diameter spheres in Cuenca, Ecuador
