BELLEVUE, Wash., March 8, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms will hold a special event featuring the rolling "Guns Save Lives" billboard on Wednesday between 10 and 11 a.m. at the Howard Johnson Plaza Hotel, 7707 NW 103rd Street in Hialeah Gardens.
Appearing at the event will be CCRKBA Legislative Director Joe Waldron, who will be discussing the benefits of firearms ownership, and what gun prohibitionists are trying to hide with their current effort to scare the public into supporting additional restrictions on gun owners. This effort is being bankrolled by anti-gun billionaire New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg and the Mayors Against Illegal Guns.
Bloomberg has teamed up with Mayors Against Illegal Guns to send a moving billboard truck around the country claiming that 34 Americans are "murdered with guns every day." CCRKBA Chairman Alan M. Gottlieb said Bloomberg's campaign "tells less than half of a story, so we're setting the record straight with the help of several outstanding Illinois gun rights activists."
"Bloomberg's organization would be more aptly titled 'Mayors Against Self-Defense,'" said Waldron. "It is because of their campaign of hysteria, and the misinformation it is spreading, CCRKBA and the Second Amendment Foundation were obliged to send out a 'truth squad' to Miami and several other major American cities over the next few weeks."
CCRKBA's mobile billboard arrived in Miami yesterday, and has been traveling the streets with a simple message: Guns Save Lives. Waldron will have handouts available, and will answer questions.
With more than 650,000 members and supporters nationwide, the Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms (www.ccrkba.org) is one of the nation's premier gun rights organizations.
