Mr. Carochi brings over 30 years of experience to CEC with an extensive background in correctional management in both the public and private sectors. His wide range of experience in the field of criminal justice and corrections includes a focus on public safety, pre-release, reentry, and leadership development. Mr. Carochi has held senior management roles at nineteen State of Colorado Correctional facilities and four private contract prison facilities. He has been an advisor to Mexico on corrections programming for the United States Embassy on a wide range of policy issues related to United States contributions.

Mr. Carochi began his career in Corrections in 1985 working for the Colorado DOC and worked his way through the ranks holding positions of Associate Warden, Warden and Deputy Director of Prisons, to Director of Prisons in 2011. As the DOP, he oversaw a $500 million dollar budget and responsibility for over 5000 employees, including supervision of two Deputy DOP's, the Deputy Director of Clinical Services, the Director of Offender Services, and the Manager of Emergency Operations.
Prior to coming to CEC, Mr. Carochi served as Regional Vice President of JPay, Inc., and was previously employed at the GEO Group in Director's roles. Mr. Carochi holds a BA in Behavioral Science from Colorado State University.
At CEC Mr. Carochi will lead varied reentry efforts across the state. Programs ranging from secure reentry setting at CMRC in Colorado Springs to our latest community reentry treatment partnership with Denver County as we launch our CBT initiative.
