Ceco Door Named Tennessee Business Recycler of the Year

MILAN, Tenn., Aug. 29, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Ceco Door, a manufacturer of steel doors and frames, and an ASSA ABLOY Group brand, has been named Business Recycler of the Year in the state of Tennessee. On August 13, 2018, the Tennessee Recycling Coalition presented Ceco Door with the award in Franklin, TN at their annual conference in recognition of their efforts in sustainability and waste reduction.

The Tennessee Recycling Coalition is a non-profit organization that has been promoting recycling and sustainable materials management throughout the state for the past thirty years. Ceco Door's recognition was due in large part to their recent project: Hazardous Paint Waste Reduction. Working with paint vendor, PPG, Ceco Door switched to a new formula of primer containing no heavy metals. This change reduced their hazard waste generation per part produced by 78%. Additionally, Ceco Door was able to lower purchasing minimums on finish coat paint which reduced hazardous waste by 60% in that process.
