WEST CALDWELL, N.J., March 8, 2016 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Community Education Centers, (CEC) announced today that 2016 marks the 40th year of its operations in Colorado and the 20th year in New Jersey demonstrating its long-standing tradition of providing government customers reentry, residential, and substance abuse treatment programming.

"Since the start of one program in Colorado 40 years ago, we have cumulatively served approximately half a million residents, inmates and outpatients entrusted to our care," said James E. Hyman, CEO.  "Today, we build on that legacy serving over 20,000 individuals each day for our Federal, State and local customers on one of their most pressing public policy, healthcare, corrections and security issues.  CEC is committed to Breaking the Cycle of Recidivism."

The Williams Street Center (WSC) is a residential community corrections program, providing reentry services for residents referred from the Colorado Department of Public Safety and Division of Criminal Justice. An early pioneer in the area of reentry treatment programming, WSC opened its doors in 1977 to service community corrections clients in the Denver area. WSC has provided continuous community corrections treatment in-house and on an outsourcing basis over their forty years in operation. A hallmark of the facility was its innovative ability to provide electronic monitoring to residents in the early years. The facility has maintained an impressive track record of community service, as residents accompanied by staff have participated in numerous volunteer efforts that help Denver area organizations including Habitat for Humanity, the Denver Rescue Mission, Denver Urban Gardens, and the Denver Humane Society.

CEC shares in the celebration of a milestone this year being in operation for twenty years. Since its beginning in 1996 as a substance abuse treatment provider in New Jersey, CEC has grown to become a national provider with three divisions, able to deliver a complete continuum of care treatment model designed to address the needs of varied correctional populations.

CEC is a leading national provider of rehabilitative services for offenders in reentry and in-prison treatment facilities, as well as providing comprehensive management of county, state, and federal jail and detention facilities. The Company provides evidence-based programming for residential and non-residential clients and maintains a documented record of reducing recidivism. CEC services also include drug and alcohol testing by SECON, a comprehensive drug testing and screening company that provides services worldwide.
