CED Honors Thomas J. McInerney, President and CEO of Genworth Financial, Inc., with Leadership Award

WASHINGTON, Nov. 14, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- The Committee for Economic Development (CED) recognizes Thomas J. McInerney, a CED Trustee and the President and CEO of Genworth Financial, Inc. with the Leadership in the Nation's Interest Award. The signature CED Award is reserved for business executives who lead their companies with the utmost integrity and purpose, and champion issues for the common good.

Kathleen A. Murphy, President of Fidelity Personal Investing, will provide introductory remarks and present him with the Award. Kathleen noted, "Tom has been a mentor, role model and dear friend. As the President and CEO of Genworth Financial, Inc., Tom has spearheaded several programs and initiatives that promote the common good.  Leveraging his extensive insurance and financial expertise, Tom has worked to advance healthcare reform, fiscal responsibility, and educational programs that prepare the workforce to compete globally.  Notably, he has worked diligently to promote gender diversity on corporate boards and in executive management.
