CEDIA EXPO Gives Attendees the Edge in Sustainable Lifestyles
Educational offerings help industry businesses adopt environmentally conscious offerings and business practices
INDIANAPOLIS, June 24 /PRNewswire/ -- The Custom Electronic Design & Installation Association (CEDIA) will offer courses, seminars, and certification programs at CEDIA EXPO 2010 for attendees looking to build on their knowledge of sustainable lifestyles. CEDIA's sustainability focused programs will include offerings on energy management, energy audits, photovoltaic systems, and more.
The programs are part of CEDIA's Sustainable Lifestyles Initiative, which seeks to support CEDIA members and industry businesses in pursuing environmental responsibility. The offerings will include two courses in CEDIA University's Electronic Systems Designer college, energy audit training from the Residential Services Network (RESNET) and the Home Energy Team Institute (HETI), and two certification opportunities from RESNET and HETI.
CEDIA will also offer a keynote panel discussion on The Future of Energy Management at 9:00 a.m. Friday, Sept. 24 following its Annual Membership Meeting. The keynote panel will feature leaders in consumer technology, energy management, and smart grid technology offering their perspective on energy management and the electronic systems industry. The keynote panel is open to all registered attendees free of charge.

Additionally, CEDIA's Electronic Lifestyles® Awards competition will recognize a manufacturer for Sustainable Lifestyles Product Innovation in 2010.
CEDIA's Sustainable Lifestyles Initiative also includes several measures designed to reduce the environmental impact of CEDIA EXPO itself, from reducing printed courseware materials and signage to offering opportunities to recycle waste materials and offset travel emissions.
