Celebrating 1 million plunges at Nickelodeon Universe® in Mall of America®

BLOOMINGTON, Minn., June 23, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Today, Nickelodeon Universe^® in Mall of America^® celebrated 1 million rides on the thrilling SpongeBob Rock Bottom Plunge roller coaster.

As part of the celebration, the eight guests who rode in the 1 millionth coaster cart were surprised following their ride by SpongeBob and Nickelodeon Universe team members. The eight riders were given 1 million free rides to Nickelodeon Universe and were the inaugural inductees into the prestigious "Million Riders Club."

SpongeBob Rock Bottom Plunge opened in 2008. It is the first of its kind to be built inside a mall and completely indoors. The coaster lifts thrill riders up toward the ceiling, then turns them head over heels with intense loops, spirals and 90 degree turns.
