WASHINGTON, Feb. 6, 2013 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Each year, LULAC members from across the country travel to Washington, D.C. in order to participate in the LULAC Annual Legislative Conference where they meet with Members of Congress and agency leaders to partake in meaningful dialogue regarding how present policies and regulations impact the Latino community. Issues to be discussed at this year's legislative conference include comprehensive immigration reform, health disparities, educational inequalities, and technology. The legislative sessions are open to the public.
This year's Legislative Conference will begin on Wednesday, February 13 from 9:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M. at the JW Marriott, Salon G, located at 1331 Pennsylvania Ave, NW, Washington, D.C. The Legislative Awards Gala will also be held on Wednesday, February 13, in the Ballroom at the JW Marriott from 7:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. The following day, Thursday, February 14 from 9:30 A.M. to 4 P.M., LULAC grassroots advocates will meet with Members of Congress to discuss LULAC's policy priorities.
At this year's Awards Gala, the Presidential Award will be presented to The Honorable Joaquin Castro, United States House of Representatives; and the Legislative Award will be bestowed upon The Honorable Luz Robles, Utah State Senator.
