Celebrity Chef Tim Love Cooks up a Recipe for Wholesome Eating for Moms and Children at Save-A-Lot

GARLAND, Texas, March 25 /PRNewswire/ -- On Friday, March 26, Chef Tim Love is cooking it up at Save-A-Lot food store to show shoppers how to make the chili he's created for the value-centered grocer. Walnut Glen Elementary 4th graders will also be on-hand to serve as official "chili-tasters" for the event. As the nation's leading hard-discount grocery chain, Save-A-Lot will donate chili ingredients and a $1,000 gift card to mobile soup kitchen SoupMobile to help feed North Texas homeless.

Donning his infamous cowboy hat, Chef Tim, of "Iron Chef America" and "Top Chef Masters" fame, will demonstrate his chili making skills for Save-A-Lot food store customers, bloggers, VIPs, and the students. He'll also share the recipe with SoupMobile chefs to use at the newly developed SoupMobile Village and on the trucks that are dispatched into the community. The owner of Ft. Worth restaurant Lonesome Dove Western Bistro, Chef Tim will kick-off the free demo and tasting at 12 p.m. at the store located at 219 West Kingsley in Garland.

Since 1993, the SoupMobile has fed more than 1 million people. This donation will help feed more than 1,000. Last year, the organization built its first facility to provide housing for the area's needy – the SoupMobile Village – and will open a second one later this year.
