NEW YORK, April 16, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- TransMedia Group (www.TransMediaGroup.com) has been retained to develop and implement an international public relations campaign for world-renowned celebrity trainer Avital Zeisler and her innovative Soteria Method™ (www.SoteriaMethod.com), in line with the launch of her highly-anticipated book, "Weapons of Fitness," on sale now at all major distributors, including Amazon.com, Barnes & Noble and iTunes.

The Soteria Method™ training system, a unique practice of self-defense, fitness and self-discovery, has transformed the lives of women from all walks of life, including Hollywood actresses like Amanda Seyfried and Keri Russell, to corporate executives and those struggling to overcome trauma, including violence and sexual assault.

This week Zeisler is launching an international tour to spread awareness for The Soteria Method™, beginning with a self-defense workshop this evening for Safe Horizon's Lower East Side Streetwork facility (www.SafeHorizon.org) and a community workshop on Sunday, April 19^th in NYC, then moving on to Toronto, Miami and Grand Cayman.

TransMedia group will be responsible for coordinating media interviews throughout the tour, and booking and publicizing workshops at high schools and universities, for women's shelters and corporations, and in the greater communities, helping to build a diverse international audience.

A ballet dancer turned self-defense and personal security expert, Zeisler studied Krav Maga and has worked with elite military personnel, law enforcement and security specialists from around the world to overcome the trauma associated with surviving an instance of sexual assault. Her mission is to redefine self-defense for women, and it is saving women's lives.
