WASHINGTON, Oct. 20, 2016 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The U.S. Census Bureau released the Public Use Microdata Sample (PUMS) files from the 2015 American Community Survey 1-year estimates.
The PUMS files contain data on approximately 1 percent of the U.S. population and are now available for users to create their own tabulations.
The files show population and housing characteristics down to Public Use Microdata Areas, which are nonoverlapping areas that partition each state into contiguous geographic units containing no fewer than 100,000 people. Users can create tabulations through their own software or through the Census Bureau tool DataFerrett.
For more information about PUMS data, please see the About PUMS page. PUMS data and PUMS technical documentation is also available.
