Centennial Scholarship Established for Incoming Freshmen
Students could receive up to $3,000 per year
ST. LOUIS, March 11, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Starting this fall, new freshmen at Webster University can qualify for up to $3,000 per year in scholarships. The program is part of a new $25 million endowed scholarship established for this year's Webster University's Centennial celebration.
The new award, The Webster University Centennial Scholarship, is being granted to students on the Webster Groves home campus. A student's eligibility will be reviewed in the fall and spring semesters for a maximum of eight semesters.
"To contribute to our undergraduate students' success, and to strengthen this region's future, we must do everything we can to improve access to high quality, global education, while reducing out-of-pocket costs," said Elizabeth (Beth) J. Stroble, president of Webster University. "The Webster University Centennial Scholarship continues Webster's century-long tradition of successfully meetings students' needs."
The scholarship will become available in the fall of 2015. Students will be automatically considered for the scholarship upon their acceptance to Webster University. In order to receive the funds, students must:
- Be first-year freshmen enrolled in 13 or more credit hours each fall and spring semester
- Have a 3.0 GPA or above and 21 ACT/980 SAT or above
- Demonstrate financial need
- Have completed and submitted a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

Earlier this year, Webster established a scholarship for part-time students who are transferring from a community college to one of the University's St. Louis area programs.
