Center for Cultural Interchange Seeks Coordinators for International Exchange Programs
Local Coordinators help create lifelong bonds and improve foreign relations.
CHICAGO, April 12, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- The Center for Cultural Interchange (CCI), the well-respected, nonprofit student exchange organization, is currently conducting a nationwide search for Local Coordinators. These paid positions are for people with a desire to bring culture to their communities by connecting foreign students with American host families. Hiring takes place now through June 2011.

"By acting as the common link for schools, host families and students, Local Coordinators are globally enhancing and expanding the horizons of every person in their community," says Allison Graham, outreach and training manager for CCI. "Local Coordinators also help to shape the experience of visiting international high school students by providing guidance and support throughout their time here."
Local Coordinators are independent contractors, who work from home and have part-time, flexible hours, year round. The responsibilities for CCI's Local Coordinators include:
- Recruiting American families and students interested in international exchange.
- Matching host families with international students.
- Identifying schools open to international exchange students.
- Providing orientation and group excursions for international students and host families.
- Acting as a support person and counselor for families and international students.
The United States Department of State (DOS) recognizes the importance and impact of a Local Coordinator's contribution to the foreign relations of the United States. Each coordinator must be certified by the DOS. Training and video tutorials are available to fully equip participants with the skills and tools needed to facilitate cultural exchange. In addition, coordinators receive a stipend for each student placed.
