Centers Health Care's Third Annual "Care That Moves You" Program Engaged Residents, Team Members and Communities Throughout August

"Care That Moves You" Core to System-wide Commitment to Healthy Movement

BRONX, N.Y., Sept. 16, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Centers Health Care, the largest and most complete post-acute health care continuum in the Northeast that touches one million lives each year, again celebrated its popular program, "Care That Moves You," which inspires fun exercise and healthy movement, across its network of 45 skilled nursing and rehabilitation facilities, this summer. Between residents, team members and communities, more than 1,000 participated in events across the health system this year, marking an increase in participation over last year.

Building on the success of previous years, the 2025 program delivered even more opportunities for seniors to participate in enjoyable, movement-based activities tailored to all ability levels, including silent disco parties, chair bowling and a full slate of Field Day-themed games, with mascot Gavin the Goat making appearances. The summer-long fun culminated with multiple events taking place on Care That Moves You Day, (August 20, 2025), in honor of National Senior Citizens Day, celebrating the vitality and contributions of the senior community. Dozens of local news media covered the events as they happened, airing segments such as: Luau helps get Carthage senior citizens moving; Movin' & Groovin' at the Corning Center's 'Care That Moves You' Celebration; and Glens Falls Center gets residents up and moving.

This summer the system also launched an inspiring video series on its social media channels that celebrated the journey to mobility for a real-life group of patients. Steps to Home followed these patients as they rehabilitated, recovered, and returned home from skilled nursing care. Each episode highlighted expert therapy, personalized support, and everyday victories that play a key role in successful rehab, all rooted in movement as a cornerstone of care.
