PLYMOUTH MEETING, Pa., Oct. 26, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- CenterSquare Investment Management, an investment boutique of BNY Mellon that focuses on real assets, announced today the launch of the "Listed Infrastructure Education Campaign," a multi-faceted approach aimed at educating both institutional and retail investors about the opportunity in listed infrastructure. To initiate the campaign, CenterSquare released a video titled: "Today's Opportunity in Listed Infrastructure."
"We're at the forefront of this emerging opportunity and want investors to understand what we already know: Listed infrastructure is an attractive, but untapped opportunity," said Todd Briddell, CenterSquare CEO and Chief Investment Officer. "It became clear in speaking with investment professionals that we need to provide education about the value of income producing real assets in general, and listed infrastructure in particular. We see a great deal of excitement surrounding infrastructure and look forward to converting that excitement into opportunity."
Listed infrastructure has nearly quadrupled its market cap in the last 15 years, as listed companies are taking an increasing role in the development and reinvigoration of infrastructure assets around the world. Infrastructure assets are largely underinvested – global infrastructure will require $57 trillion in investment between 2010 and 2030 according to a 2013 McKinsey Global Institute study – and most governments are without the political will or debt capacity to fund them. CenterSquare believes listed infrastructure companies will continue to fulfill this need, and do so while providing liquidity and diversification to investors and a demonstrated efficiency gain from experienced, dedicated management.
CenterSquare's educational campaign targets three key themes:
- Real Asset Benefits – Primarily infrastructure and real estate, these investments are defined by long term cash flows and long duration assets that are integral to the global economy.
- Institutional Trends – Leading institutional investors are increasingly embracing income producing real assets as a distinct alternative investment category, with portfolios likely to include 10-20% real assets.
- Secular Trends: Population growth, growth of the middle class, urbanization, and globalization all support the need for increased investment in global infrastructure.
CenterSquare has also teamed with Joseph Gyourko, a nationally renowned economist, real estate expert and Wharton professor, to hold forums for investors in select cities addressing the implementation of a real assets solution.
The video release marks the official launch of the Listed Infrastructure Education Campaign, which will also include:
- Real Asset Forums for investment professionals
- Global face-to-face meetings with prospective investors
- Interactive presentations and webinars
- Dedicated YouTube channel with real assets content
