HOUSTON, Dec. 5, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- alliantgroup is proud to announce the addition of Dave Tilstone, President of the National Tooling and Machining Association (NTMA), to the firm's Strategic Advisory Board.
A longtime executive within the manufacturing sector, Tilstone brings to the firm multiple decades of experience as both an alliance head and as an executive for a precision manufacturing company. As one of the newest additions to the board, Tilstone will play an important role in advising alliantgroup on its mission of education and awareness to the manufacturing sector. There are a number of government-sponsored tax incentives that have been created for the benefit of U.S. manufacturers, and alliantgroup is committed to informing these companies on the availability and value of these incentive programs.
"It gives me great pride to be joining the board of such a first-class organization," said Tilstone. "alliantgroup has already brought tremendous value to many NTMA members. I look forward to advising the firm and offering support any way that I can as it continues its vital outreach to the manufacturing industry."
Tilstone has been the President of NTMA since 2010. An association comprised of over 1,300 small to mid-size businesses, NTMA exists to help custom manufacturers achieve profitable growth and business success in a global economy through advocacy, advice, networking, information, programs and services. The organization recently made alliantgroup a national associate member and has partnered with the firm to inform its members of government incentives that reward companies for creating and keeping high-paying technical jobs in the United States. With the advancement of automation and technology, STEM skills will be of immense importance to the next generation of manufacturing workers—and these incentives offer substantial tax savings to companies that hire such talent domestically as opposed to moving jobs overseas.
"Technology is changing the nature of manufacturing, with the industry moving away from traditional assembly line employees to workers that have the technical knowledge to run and maintain automated production systems," said alliantgroup CEO Dhaval Jadav. "STEM jobs truly are the future of U.S. manufacturing and these incentives will reward businesses for keeping high-paying STEM jobs here in the U.S."
In addition to his role with NTMA, Tilstone serves as the Director of ADT International Consulting, an organization that assists small to mid-size manufacturing companies with strategic planning and marketing programs for expansion outside the United States. Prior to joining both associations, Tilstone was the President of Extrude Hone from 2002 through 2005, President of Kennametal Extrude Hone from 2005 to 2008 and the Vice President of Global Marketing and Sales for Kennametal from 1997 through 2001. A company that is a global leader in the design and manufacture of engineered components, advanced materials and cutting tools, Tilstone's time with Kennametal provided him direct experience on the labor challenges facing custom manufacturers.
"Dave and I are both extremely passionate about STEM and the need to keep STEM jobs on American shores," said Jadav. "Dave will play an enormous role in guiding how we spread the word of these incentives. I would like to formally welcome him to the board and look forward to his contributions to the future of our company."
