Janne Kahila from Finland won the biggest photo competition, "Our world is beautiful", with his Photo “Cliff of Kallur”. What impressed the jury more than anything was that Janne Kahila managed the artistic and technical feat of compressing an overwhelming landscape into an image with photographic means which allows the observer of the photo to experience the beauty and magnificence of the scene. Le vendredi 22 septembre, les vainqueurs du plus grand concours ouvert de photos au monde « Our world is beautiful » (« Notre monde est beau ») ont été choisis au Musée allemand de la photographie de Markkleeberg, près de Leipzig. Plus de 183 000 photos ont été envoyées au concours, organisé en partenariat avec CEWE, le grand laboratoire photo et spécialiste de l'impression commerciale en ligne, par plus de 22 000 candidats. Parmi les nombreux thèmes uniques qui ont été envoyés, c'est Janne Kahila, de Finlande, qui a remporté le prix CEWE Photo Award avec sa photo des îles Féroé.

Les participants devaient envoyer des photos dans les catégories « Sports », « Personnes », « Paysages », « Architecture », « Transports et Infrastructure » et « Nature ». Le Dr Christian Friege, président du conseil d'administration de CEWE, a distingué les six gagnants dans leurs catégories respectives et remis le prix CEWE Photo Award au grand gagnant. Chacun d'entre eux s'est attaché la préférence du jury grâce à sa vision personnelle de la beauté du monde. Le jury a estimé que Janne Kahila avait immortalisé le message du concours avec sa photo, qui illustre la beauté du monde à travers ses contrastes entre la terre et la mer d'une part, la lumière et l'obscurité de l'autre. Rien qu'une petite chapelle au sommet d'une colline témoigne de l'influence de l'Homme dans une nature autrement préservée. Le Finlandais commente au sujet de sa photo : « Nous avons tous nos lieux de prédilection, quelque part sur Terre, où nous aimons le plus nous retrouver. Mon endroit préféré est Kalsoy, l'une des îles Féroé ».
