ANN ARBOR, Mich., March 2, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- The 2nd Annual CHAMPs for Mott, scheduled for Friday, May 15 – Monday, May 18, 2015, is an exciting fundraiser for the University of Michigan C.S. Mott Children's Hospital. With co-presenting sponsors Delta Air Lines and Lexus of Ann Arbor, the event brings together celebrities, health care leaders, athletes, musicians and philanthropists from around the nation to help raise much needed funds for the children at Mott — one of the top-10 children's hospitals in the United States.

The weekend's activities will kick off with a VIP dinner for top sponsors at Zingerman's Cornman Farms on Friday, May 15. The weekend will continue with a gala on Saturday, May 16 where more than 200 CHAMPs will enjoy a strolling dining experience with gourmet food and wine prepared right in front of them by world-renowned chefs from around the country at a Delta Air Lines airplane hangar at Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport (DTW). The dinner will be followed by an 18-hole golf tournament on Monday, May 18 at the prestigious Oakland Hills Country Club - South Course.

The weekend event will benefit the U-M Congenital Heart Center and the Charles Woodson Clinical Research Fund both at Mott Children's Hospital. The U-M Congenital Heart Center has a vision to not only help children from across the world with life-threatening heart disease survive, but also to help vastly improve their quality-of-life into adulthood. The Charles Woodson Clinical Research Fund supports research investigators who are tirelessly working to advance new therapies for serious childhood disease and conditions that limit a child's lifetime potential and helps to accelerate innovative ideas, bringing concepts closer to real cures.
The inaugural CHAMPs for Mott in 2014 raised more than $375,000 for the U-M Congenital Heart Center and the Charles Woodson Clinical Research Fund.
