Charlotte County Schools Transitions to Marathon Health
New Partnership expands Marathon Health's services to five Florida school districts
PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla., March 28, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Charlotte County Public Schools officials announced today that the district is transitioning operations of its onsite wellness center to Marathon Health, LLC, a population health management provider operating 21 health centers in Florida. The partnership is part of the school district's effort to increase participation in primary and preventive care services, improve the health of their population, and reduce healthcare costs.
Charlotte County Public Schools (CCPS) serves more than 15,000 students in 21 schools. Marathon Health's CCPS health center, scheduled to open May 17, will provide health and wellness services to 1,500 employees, their spouses and their dependents. The Marathon Health-operated CCPS Wellness Center will be staffed by two nurse practitioners and two medical assistants. Recruiting for those positions is already under way.
Marathon Health's total population health management services, including primary care, acute care, health assessments, lifestyle coaching, and chronic condition coaching, provide participants with a different way to think about health by offering the tools and support to empower them to take control of their wellbeing and health care.
