Chase Simmons Confirmed as Polsinelli's Vice Chair and Chair-Elect
Shareholders vote Real Estate Practice Chair as firm's third leader.
KANSAS CITY, Mo., June 8, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- F. Chase Simmons is the Vice Chair and Chair-Elect of Am Law 100 firm Polsinelli. Simmons was nominated by the firm's Board of Directors May 23, and his election was confirmed this evening by a vote from Polsinelli shareholders.
Simmons is also Chair of Polsinelli's national Real Estate Practice Group and Real Estate Equity Group. He has been with the firm for 20 years—his entire legal career. Simmons will assume Chairmanship on Jan. 1, 2019, succeeding Chairman and CEO Russ Welsh, who has served in the position since 1998.

Welsh will continue as Chairman and CEO through Dec. 31, 2018. The planned 18-month transition period has been designed to enable Simmons to continue to serve his clients, manage his practice groups, and work closely with Welsh before assuming Chairmanship responsibilities.
