Cherrytree Records Signs Acclaimed British Singer-Songwriter And Mercury Prize Nominee Jessie Ware

SANTA MONICA, Calif., Oct. 17, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Cherrytree Records is pleased to announce that they have signed British singer and songwriter Jessie Ware and will release a digital and physical EP via Interscope, entitled 110%, in December, a month before Ware launches her first U.S. tour in January 2013.

First single "110%" is included on Ware's debut album Devotion, which is out on PMR/ Island in the U.K. and has already earned the London native critical acclaim. A showcase for Ware's soulful, melancholy vocals and effortlessly elegant songwriting skills, Devotion combines the ultra-modern feel of downtempo R&B and British electronic music with the melodrama of classic stars like Sade and Whitney Houston. The album reached the Top 5 on the British chart and was shortlisted for this year's Mercury Prize for Album of the Year. NME called it "a record filled with moments that bring you to your knees," while Time Out praised Ware as "the real deal … tender, smart and sassy."

Excitement about Ware, who was a featured vocalist on last year's SBTRKT album and Joker's The Vision, is building Stateside as well. In its 8.5 review, Pitchfork calls Devotion "smoldering music," "a uniquely soulful masterclass," and "a testament to both her talent and budding songwriting skills." Rolling Stone writes that Ware has "turned heads with her understated style" and praises her for perfecting "that approach on this set of elegant synth ballads, confiding hopes and heartbreaks in tones that command attention without ever chewing the scenery."

Ware will visit the U.S. in December to perform showcases in New York and Los Angeles, followed by a string of tour dates in January. Please see below for all dates.
