Chesapeake Urology Associates Welcomes Endourologist Vik Uberoi, M.D.

OWINGS MILLS, Md., Nov. 11, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Chesapeake Urology has announced that Vik Uberoi, M.D., has joined the practice. Dr. Uberoi is a urologist who recently completed fellowship training in endourology at Cedars Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles.

Dr. Uberoi sees patients in Chesapeake Urology's two offices in Southern Maryland at 7501 Surratts Road, Clinton, MD, and at the Fairview Center, 4225 Altamont Place, White Plains, MD.

Vik Uberoi, M.D. joins Chesapeake Urology Associates

Dr. Uberoi practices general urology and focuses on robotic surgery of the prostate, kidney, ureters and bladder. He specializes in the advanced treatments for large and complex kidney stones including percutaneous nephrolithotomy (PCNL) and also performs retrograde intrarenal surgery (RIRS). In addition, Dr. Uberoi provides preventive care for patients with kidney stones through medical metabolic management. He also focuses on ureteral strictures, enlarged prostate (BPH) and erectile dysfunction.

He graduated from Emory University with at a Bachelor of Arts degree in chemistry and political science and received his Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Maryland School of Medicine. He completed his general surgery internship and urology residency at Boston University Medical Center, and a fellowship in endourology at Cedars Sinai Medical Center. (Endourology is the branch of urology that deals with the closed manipulation of the urinary tract and includes all urologic minimally invasive surgical procedures.)

Dr. Uberoi is a frequent speaker on urological issues and has published articles in multiple medical journals on urologic topics including urinary catheters, urinary tract function, treatment of urinary tract stones, sleep disorders and voiding dysfunction, bladder cancer, robotic cystectomy, polycystic kidney disease and renal cysts.

Dr. Uberoi grew up in Baltimore, MD and resides in Bethesda, MD. He is multi-lingual and speaks English, Hindi and Spanish.
