Chicago Blackhawk Patrick Sharp to Assist Illinois Lottery in Launching New Game, 'Hit or Miss'

CHICAGO, Sept. 23, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- The Illinois Lottery is offering a new way to play with its newest draw-game, Hit or Miss, and has enlisted Chicago Blackhawk Patrick Sharp to help build excitement around this unique game. The popular Left Wing from the Stanley Cup champions will be onsite from noon to 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, September 25 at Pioneer Court, 401 North Michigan Avenue to help launch the new Lottery game.  Sharp will assist lottery fans as they participate in a hockey-style game to win prizes, and will interact with the lunchtime crowd.

A new twist to the traditional lottery draw-game, players can win big in Hit or Miss when they match all 12 numbers or if they match none of the 12 numbers drawn. With overall odds of winning at 1-in- 4.54, Hit or Miss offers the best odds of any Illinois Lottery draw-game.

Hit or Miss went live on September 22 and costs $2 per game. Players win cash by matching 8 to 12 numbers, or by matching 0 to 4 numbers. Players win the $250,000 top prize by matching all or none of the 12 numbers drawn.  Even more cash can be won when a player hits or misses all 12 numbers and matches The Good Life number (a randomly generated number from 1 – 5), enabling the player to win the $250,000 top prize plus 20 annual payments of $100,000 – a total prize of over $2 million!

Hit or Miss is available at 8,200 Lottery retailers statewide. Drawings take place four times a day, seven days a week at 10:30 a.m., 12:40 p.m., 6:30 p.m. and 9:22 p.m. Winning numbers are displayed on www.illinoislottery.com.
