"Our clocks are one of a kind, each is hand produced here in America by people who are blind; a population impacted by a 70% unemployment rate," said Dr. Janet Szlyk, President and CEO of Chicago Lighthouse Industries.  Dr. Szlyk noted that Lighthouse Industries has the exclusive contract to make clocks for the U.S. government and since 1977, has made more than six million clocks.

Among them is Richard Sullivan, product manager of Lighthouse Industries, who oversees the distribution of the fashion clocks.  Sullivan was pursuing a promising career in sales when he began experiencing severe vision loss, which ultimately led to him losing his job.  He was able to get his career back on track thanks to the clock-making program at Lighthouse Industries.  "This is truly a gift that helps change lives," Sullivan maintains.
