Chicago's Spot Trading Named One Of "Best And Brightest Companies To Work For" In U.S.
Second National Honor Follows Two Consecutive Years on Chicago List
CHICAGO, Nov. 12, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Spot Trading LLC, a leading Chicago-based proprietary equity options trading firm, announced that the National Association for Business Resources (NABR) has again named the firm to its prestigious list of National Best and Brightest Companies to Work For. The honor, bestowed this year upon only 114 firms nationwide, follows the July announcement that Spot was named one of "Chicago's 101 Best and Brightest Companies to Work For™" by NABR for the second consecutive year.
The association said that hundreds of competing companies throughout the country vie for the Best and Brightest designation, but only those with the highest quality human resources initiatives are selected. Spot also earned a spot on the list last year in NABR's first national contest.
The 2012 winning companies nationwide were assessed by an independent research firm which reviewed a number of key measures relative to other nationally recognized winners. They include compensation, benefits and employee solutions; employee enrichment, engagement and retention; employee education and development; recruitment, selection and orientation; employee achievement and recognition; communication and shared vision; diversity and inclusion; work-life balance; community initiatives; and strategic company performance.
Rob Merrilees, Spot Trading founder and CEO, said: "Our employees, along with our collaborative, transparent culture, play a huge role in our success. I believe we earn these distinctions because we've made a tremendous commitment to offering a best-in-class, high-energy environment that attracts some of the brightest minds and talent in our industry. We're very proud to receive this national designation once again and look forward to implementing more innovative initiatives that will set us apart in the future."
Spot's unique trading style is based on the integration and collaboration of a variety of disciplines, involving traders, research analysts, technologists, financial engineers and various support teams.
NABR President Jennifer Kluge said: "Our list of nationally recognized companies has grown significantly this year. This exceptional growth is a testament to how important this designation is for companies that want to have the best and brightest employees working for them," said Jennifer Kluge, NABR president. We are proud to recognize and honor these winning companies."
Based in Warren, Mich., the National Association for Business Resources (www.nationalbiz.org) is a business organization of small to medium-sized businesses, representing more than 20,000 members who employ over 200,0000 persons nationally.
