Chicago's TK Academy Accepted as a National Association of Special Education Teachers (NASET) School of Excellence

CHICAGO, June 3 /PRNewswire/ -- Timberline Knolls Residential Treatment Center, a leader in treatment for anorexia nervosa, bulimia, compulsive overeating and binge eating disorders for women 12 and older, has been honored as a 2010-2011 National Association of Special Education Teachers (NASET) School of Excellence for its on campus school, TK Academy. The highest level of recognition a private special education school can achieve through NASET, the award is presented to private special education schools that meet rigorous professional criteria and have demonstrated exceptional dedication, commitment and achievement in the field of special education. This recognition is awarded annually, with 52 schools across the U.S. receiving the honor for the 2010-2011 school year.

The academic program at TK Academy is imbedded in the overall treatment and recovery plan for the residents at Timberline Knolls. TK Academy is an Illinois State Board of Education-approved school that provides students the opportunity for six-and-a-half hours a day of educational and therapeutic services, allowing them to receive individualized, results-oriented educational support, and allowing a continuation of classes while seeking treatment.
