Fast casual concept expands to 26 states, celebrating grand opening in Barboursville on September 16 with free chicken salad for a year

ATLANTA, Sept. 2, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Chicken Salad Chick, the nation's only fast casual chicken salad restaurant concept, announced today the opening of its first restaurant in The Mountain State, which will expand the brand's footprint to 26 states. The new restaurant is located at 21 Tanyard Station Drive in the Tanyard Station shopping center in Barboursville. The community is invited to celebrate the grand opening on Wednesday, September 16, when the first 100 guests in line will win free chicken salad for a year*. 

During the grand opening week, guests can expect to experience the Southern hospitality Chicken Salad Chick is known for while taking advantage of various specials and giveaways. These include:

• Wednesday, September 16 – Free Chicken Salad for a Year to the First 100 Guests – The first guest in line at 10am will receive one FREE large Quick Chick of chicken salad per week for an entire year. Chicken Salad Chick of Barboursville is owned and operated by first-time franchise owners and couple, Tammy and Rancie Hannah. Prior to franchising, Tammy spent over 30 years in pharmaceutical sales at Pfizer, and Rancie is a practicing physician in Russell, Kentucky where he provides hospice care. They both built careers around serving others with compassion and hospitality and believe these skills will transfer well to franchise ownership. Their son, who is graduating with a bachelor's degree in business from Eastern Kentucky University this May, may also join the family business and assist with operations following graduation.

Beyond their professional lives, the Hannahs are active members of Greenup Christian Church and view community service as an important part of their fellowship. They have been loyal Chicken Salad Chick customers for years and had always been interested in opening a restaurant of their own. When they learned about an opportunity to bring the brand to Ashland, Kentucky, they jumped at the chance and also agreed to open the franchise's first West Virigina restaurant.
