Chickie's & Pete's Raises Record Amount for Fallen Police Officers Families
Crabfries for Heroes Brings in $24,500 For FOP Survivors Fund
PHILADELPHIA, Aug. 8, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Crabfries for Heroes 2017 was an absolute success! That's the word from the Chickie's & Pete's Restaurant Group on their recent initiative that raised money for the families of fallen police officers. The accounting is now final and the efforts raised $24,500 for the Philadelphia Fraternal Order of Police Survivors Fund.
The July 13th event, started by Chickie's & Pete's for the first time in 2015, saw all sales from specially priced $1 orders of their world famous Crabfries as well as $5 Personal Pitchers of Miller Lite Beer help the FOP Survivors Fund. The event, which coincided with National French Fry Day, has become an annual event for the iconic restaurant group.
"The amount is humbling," said Pete Ciarrocchi chairman and CEO of Chickie's & Pete's. "The past two years saw us donate a total of $30,000. The fact we almost matched that two year amount in one day is an amazing tribute to our guests, employees as well as police officers and their families. I want to thank all involved, including our friends at McCain and Miller Lite!"
To help spread the word about Crabfries for Heroes, Pete Ciarrocchi personally took the Crabfries Express on the road and hand-delivered Crabfries to police districts around Philadelphia as well as at the Police Academy. "We needed to get out and personally show these officers we love and appreciate them and we are in full support of their families as well," said Ciarrocchi.
