Children's Hospital Colorado Again Named a Top Children's Hospital

U.S. News & World Report releases 2026-2027 Best Children's Hospitals rankings

AURORA, Colo., Sept. 15, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Children's Hospital Colorado (Children's Colorado) has once again earned national recognition on the U.S. News & World Report (U.S. News) 2026-2027 Best Children's Hospitals Honor Roll, a distinction awarded to only 10 children's hospitals in the United States. Ranked No. 1 in Colorado and the Rocky Mountain region, Children's Colorado continues to lead in pediatric care, innovation and outcomes for families in our communities and beyond.

In addition to its top state and regional ranking, Children's Colorado was recognized for excellence across all ranked specialties. Five of its specialties landed among the national Top 10:

• Cardiology and heart surgery, No. 2 
• Diabetes and endocrinology, No. 5 
• Pulmonology and lung surgery, No. 6
• Gastroenterology and GI surgery, No. 8
• Neonatology, No. 8

U.S. News ranked the Top 50 centers in each of the 11 pediatric specialties: cancer, cardiology and heart surgery, diabetes and endocrinology, gastroenterology and gastrointestinal surgery, neonatology, nephrology, neurology and neurosurgery, orthopedics, pulmonology and lung surgery, urology and behavioral health. These rankings assist parents and caregivers, along with their physicians, in navigating the challenges of finding the best possible care for children with serious illnesses or complex medical needs.

For the 2026-2027 rankings, U.S. News, together with RTI International, a North Carolina-based research firm, collected and analyzed data from 114 children's hospitals and surveyed thousands of pediatric specialists. Children's hospitals awarded a "Best" designation excelled at factors such as clinical outcomes, compliance with established best practices and level and quality of hospital resources directly related to patient care.
