Children's Minnesota and Allina Health Open Michael and Ann Ciresi Midwest Fetal Care Center
New state-of-the-art facility is the largest of its kind in Upper Midwest
MINNEAPOLIS, March 10, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Children's Minnesota and Allina Health announced today the opening of the new Michael and Ann Ciresi Midwest Fetal Care Center located at The Mother Baby Center in Minneapolis between Children's Minnesota and Abbott Northwestern hospitals. The new 6,700-square-foot clinic is the first and largest advanced fetal care center in the Upper Midwest and one of only a few in the country.
The clinic was made possible in part by a $1 million named gift by Minnesota attorney and Children's Foundation past chair, Mike Ciresi, and his wife Ann. It opens on March 14th.
The new facility will be co-located with Minnesota Perinatal Physicians, one of the largest perinatal groups in the United States. Minnesota Perinatal Physicians' highly trained maternal and fetal specialists continuously pursue advanced training to better serve the region.

The new Michael and Ann Ciresi Midwest Fetal Care Center is expected to attract top talent from across the nation, beginning with the hire of Joseph Lillegard, MD, PhD, as research director and pediatric surgeon. Dr. Lillegard joined the Midwest Fetal Care Center team in July 2015 to advance the launch of the center's open fetal surgery program.

The new Michael and Ann Ciresi Midwest Fetal Care Center offers the latest technology and treatments in congenital conditions and abnormalities in unborn infants during high-risk pregnancies. From evaluation and diagnosis to fetal surgery and follow-up care, teams of experts across a multitude of specialties will have a collaborative space to work together and offer unparalleled coordination of care, all in one place. This unique, multidisciplinary approach helps ensure patients have seamless access to care every step of the way and allows for unified care plans that yield exceptional outcomes.
