Children's Medical Center is the only hospital in North Texas, and one of only two pediatric hospitals in Texas to be ranked in all 10 specialties. Top 10 rankings were achieved in Orthopedics (3rd), Nephrology (9th), and Urology (10th). Other area rankings are:

Children's increased its ranking in six of the 10 specialties compared to the 2010-2011 listing.

The new rankings recognize the top 50 children's hospitals in 10 specialties: cancer, cardiology and heart surgery, diabetes and endocrinology, gastroenterology, neonatology, nephrology, neurology and neurosurgery, orthopedics, pulmonology, and urology. Seventy-six hospitals are ranked in at least one specialty.
