China Hi-Tech Fair Highlights Internet of Things

SHENZHEN, China, Nov. 21, 2011 /PRNewswire-Asia/ -- The Internet of Things will be a highlight at this year's China Hi-Tech Fair (CHTF) in Shenzhen.

Commonly known as the "NO.1 Technology Show in China", CHTF 2011 is open from Nov. 16-21 with the theme of "promoting international cooperation through innovation, and accelerating the transformation to development mode", covering a total area of 105,000 square meters. The first CHTF was held in 1999 under the approval of China's State Council, and jointly hosted by China's 10 ministries including the Ministries of Commerce, Science and Technology and Industry and Information Technology, among others, as well as Shenzhen Municipal People's Government.

In this year's session, the "Internet of Things" is not only the focus of all the 9 pavilions, but also a hot topic on forums and at events.

For example, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of China has organized a theme pavilion in hall 4 named "Internet of Things Technology and Application", for the purpose of concentratively exhibiting a batch of key techniques with independent intellectual property rights commanded by China in this field. The exhibitors are famous Chinese enterprises such as China Mobile, China Unicom and Datang Telecom, among others.

With "developing a new generation of information technology and accelerating economic & social informationization" as the theme, China's National Development and Reform Commission also arranged a theme pavilion in hall 7, mainly exhibiting China's major contributions to the Internet of Things and cloud computing. These were achieved by their sections devoted to technical research & development and industrialization, important application demonstration, the constructions of infrastructure and standard systems, among others. The famous enterprises that will show up include Huawei, ZTE, Baidu and Haier.

Moreover, the Chinese Academy of Sciences has also organized a theme pavilion in hall 5 called "Sensing China", to "support services with science and technology and to improve the scientific management level of China's future society". Showcased within are the scientific pay-offs obtained in the field of the Internet of Things over the past 10 years through organizing over 20 research institutes and their cooperative institutions, across over 80 projects.

From hall 1 to hall 9, from the IT pavilion to forums, the Internet of Things can be seen and felt almost everywhere at CHTF 2011, which has become the most authoritative pageant in China's Internet of Things industry.
