NANNING, China, Oct. 13, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- A promotional video for Nanning, capital of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region in southern China, is being broadcast in New York's Times Square, known as "the crossroads of the world", and presenting the city's vitality, eco-livability and openness along with its rapid economic and social development.
With massive vivid images, the 30-second video highlights three city cards of Nanning--permanent venue for China-ASEAN Expo, winner of UN Habitat Scroll of Honor Award, and city with fantastic folk songs, unfolding an aesthetic picture scroll of its beautiful mountains and lakes, diverse ethnic customs and modern cityscapes.
Trying to attract more visitors and investors from all over the world, the video stresses the strategic significance of the Nanning city--the key node of China's "the Belt and Road Initiative", namely, the Silk Road Economic Belt and the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road, as well as the crucial gateway to the sea for the South China, and the core city of the Beibu Gulf Economic Zone.
This is not the first time that Nanning has promoted itself in the Times Square. In 2014, the city presented an advertising video as the host of the 45th World Gymnastics Championships, inviting Li Ning, a well-known former world gymnastics champion from Guangxi as image ambassador.
The video will be broadcast 40 times a day for the next 12 months.
