ChinaSoft International Wins MEP's Project of National Environmental Information and Statistics Competence Building

BEIJING, HONG KONG and NEW YORK, May 19, 2011 /PRNewswire-Asia/ -- ChinaSoft International Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "ChinaSoft International" or the "Group") (HKSE: 354) announced today that it has won in the bidding for Ministry of Environmental Protection (MEP)'s Project of "National Environmental Information and Statistics Competence Building – Emission Reduction Application System Supporting Platform and Application Integration". The project will be another ChinaSoft International national integration project to be implemented in the pattern of "application supporting platform + application integration", following its acceptance as an industry-specific application integrator in e-government solutions including government auditing, state-owned assets supervision, agriculture and aviation. This winning represents a major progress of ChinaSoft International in exploring China's environmental protection market, marking its new and key breakthrough in livelihood informatization area.

The project of "National Environmental Information and Statistics Competence Building" is a fundamental but key project in environmental informatization building. According to the plan, the project will build basic informatization network and application systems covering national, provincial, municipal and county-level authorities in environmental protection, serving as a fundamental but holistic project for China to achieve its target in emission reduction of major pollutants and implement the "three systems" including scientific emission reduction indexing system, all-round inspection and monitoring system as well as strict supervision and examination system. It has been approved by National Development & Reform Commission (NDRC), with an estimated investment of USD100 million. With the success in this bidding for emission reduction application supporting platform, ChinaSoft International plans to follow the development thoughts of integrating the existing services system, supporting new application system and adapting to future development needs, and aims to "unify planning, standards, operation and management" in informatization of environmental protection, ultimately realizing the data standardization, precise services, scientific management and resources sharing in emission reduction efforts and thus providing technical support and services for environmental protection authorities at different levels.
