CHLI To Present Awards to President Ma of The Republic of China (Taiwan) and Congressman Mike Pence at Annual Gala

CHLI'S Annual Awards Represent an Important Recognition from the U.S. Hispanic Community

WASHINGTON, May 13 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Congressional Hispanic Leadership Institute (CHLI) announced today that it will be presenting leadership awards to the President of the Republic of China (Taiwan), His Excellency Ma Ying-jeou, and to Congressman Mike Pence (IN-06), Chairman of the U.S. House Republican Conference. These awards are in recognition of their respective accomplishments, friendship and support of the U.S. Hispanic Community, the largest minority group in the U.S.

Previous CHLI leadership award recipients include former Prime Minister of Spain Jose Maria Aznar, former U.S. Secretary of Commerce Carlos Gutierrez, Senator Lindsey Graham (SC), Senator Robert Menendez (NJ) and former Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives Dennis Hastert.  CHLI's annual gala will take place on May 20, 2010 in Washington, D.C.
