LONDON, April 17, 2012 /PRNewswire/ --
For many recent months, some have viewed the government's position on LNG export terminals as unclear. North American producers and terminal operators have already achieved some major successes, brokering deals with several foreign buyers for LNG via some of the terminals already in progress.
Before the potential of North American LNG export can be realised, a number of challenges must be dealt with -- what are the factors that affect the decision making process of LNG export in the US and what is the status of pending applications? What are the developments for those exporters with granted licenses and what will be the implications for the international market?
Chris Smith, Deputy Assistant Secretary, Office of Oil and Natural Gas, along with Lauren O'Donnell, Director of the Division of Gas Environment & Engineering, from the U.S. Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, will be discussing the potential for North America to become one of the world's leading LNG exporters at the upcoming LNG Export Forum North America, taking place in Houston, TX, USA on May 16-18, 2012.
At the Forum, Chris and Lauren, along with other many other high profile industry experts and leaders of the development of the industry's first export projects in North America, will give their views on the latest developments in what has undoubtedly been one of the biggest "game changers" in the midstream marketplace in the past decade.
Among many other unparalleled members of this year's faculty, Janine McArdle, President of Kitimat and Senior Vice President at Apache, will share her thoughts on Building a Roadmap for Successful LNG Export; Davis Thames, Senior Vice President from Cheniere, shares with us his experiences of the launch of the first US LNG export terminal; and Toufik Benmosbah, Chief Safety, Environment and Quality Officer at Qatargas, will share best practice safety strategies for LNG terminals, from the perspective of an established world leader in LNG export.
