Christians Engaged and Great American Media Present: 'America Reads the Bible' - A Live, Historic Celebration of Faith and Freedom

The Bible-reading experience, which features participants from all 50 states and aims to inspire Americans to seek the Word daily, will be livestreamed from the Museum of the Bible on Great American Pure Flix

WASHINGTON, July 24, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Christians Engaged and Great American Media announced plans today to present America Reads the Bible, a weeklong celebration that highlights Americans from all walks of life reading biblical scripture – from Genesis to Revelation.

Held April 19–25, 2026 at the Museum of the Bible in Washington, D.C., the event will kick-off with an opening celebration the night before on April 18, and then it will be livestreamed over seven days from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Great American Pure Flix.

America Reads the Bible will feature influential voices – from well-known celebrities to ordinary people – representing all 50 states reading God's Word in honor of the 250th anniversary of the United States of America.

"This is a national call to ignite revival, inspire discipleship, and unite believers through the power of Scripture," said Christians Engaged Founder Bunni Pounds, who leads the organization behind the event.

The event draws inspiration from the biblical example of Ezra, who read Scripture publicly as a call to spiritual renewal. In the same spirit, America Reads the Bible seeks to awaken a generation to the truth, authority, and enduring relevance of God's Word.
