Chrysler Century of Innovation Video Series Debuts New Episode 'Chrysler: Evolution of the Minivan'

Chrysler is honoring its legacy as the inventor of the modern minivan with the release of "Chrysler: Evolution of the Minivan," the sixth installment of seven in the Chrysler Century of Innovation video series. The episode highlights four decades of family vehicle innovation, beginning with Chrysler's groundbreaking introduction of the minivan in 1983, exploring an innovative journey that began with the first minivans and has evolved into the modern-day Chrysler Pacifica.

"Chrysler: Evolution of the Minivan" features Chrysler Historian Brandt Rosenbusch exploring how Chrysler redefined family travel with the debut of the first minivans, sparking a new automotive category that would shape how families move for generations. From the original Caravan and Voyager to today's Chrysler Pacifica, the minivan has continuously evolved with segment-first features like plug-in hybrid powertrains, Stow 'n Go seating and advanced in-vehicle entertainment technologies.

This video is part of Chrysler's yearlong celebration of its 100th anniversary, showcasing a legacy of design, innovation and forward-thinking that continues to drive the brand today.

Century of Innovation Celebration Marches On
Chrysler continues to celebrate its centennial this summer by honoring the owners and enthusiasts who have supported the brand across generations — from the original 1924 Chrysler Six to today's innovative 2025 Chrysler Pacifica. A recent visit to the Carlisle Chrysler Nationals featured a fireside chat with Chrysler Brand CEO Chris Feuell, as well as a display of historical Chrysler vehicles. The brand will feature special displays and activations at additional premier automotive events this year, including:

• Gilmore Car Museum in Michigan with Chrysler historic vehicles participating in a cruise-in and featured at the museum's popular Red Barns Spectacular car show on August 2
• Woodward Cruise, the world's biggest car cruise, taking place on Woodward Avenue in Metro Detroit on August 16
