ARLINGTON, Texas, June 15, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- RagingBull.com has named veteran journalist Chuck Jaffe as its new editor, as part of an aggressive plan to change the site's editorial strategy to give investors insight into the minds of traders.
A consortium of traders and technical analysts who double as newsletter editors and seminar leaders, RagingBull.com plans to offer readers fresh insights at the start of every trading day, with Jaffe overseeing the editorial copy. In hiring independent journalists to work with its traders, RagingBull.com will institute an ethics/disclosure policy for both its traders and journalists; between the new editorial plan and the journalistic integrity of the content, Jaffe promised that the site would be "fresh air in the stifling environment of investment newsletter web sites."
"This site is by traders and for traders, and we will celebrate that by giving our readers news they can use straight from the desk of experienced traders, but without the veiled conflicts of interest that make it hard to trust most trading stories," Jaffe said. "Our readers will get insight into what our traders are thinking and doing, at the time of day when it is most useful to them, and with complete disclosure so that they can be clear about whether a trader's insights might be colored by current holdings or potential moves."
"We wanted the eye and the ethics of a journalist to help us create a more useful free site for traders and potential traders," said Jeff Bishop, co-founder of RagingBull.com. "Too much of what passes for trading advice on the Internet is stale and played out, or is driven by an undisclosed personal agenda to move a stock. We want traders coming to RagingBull.com before the start of the trading day to get something useful."
To that end, the site will undergo a makeover – unveiled in July -- so that it features each day what Jaffe calls "the daily five," five specific trading-oriented pieces of content that a trader can access at 8:30 each weekday morning, "just before the gates open and it's time for them to go rage at the market."
Features will include "Today's Trade," (a look at a move the trader is watching for once the market opens), "Why not?" (where traders discuss why they're not following the herd), "Sucker's Bet," (where traders warn readers away from technical traps) and more, short, punchy, accessible and often actionable stories for the trading public.
"We plan to leverage RagingBull's experts so that traders can come to the site to find something interesting, trustworthy and potentially useful in their day's trading," says Bishop. "If we can deliver that in just a few minutes of reading time each day, people will see the expertise of the RagingBull trading team and have good reason to join the full RagingBull community."
