"Game-changers" become Principals, will launch office agency leasing services in Dallas

DALLAS, TX, May 22, 2015 /CNW/ - Greg Langston, Avison Young Principal and Managing Director of the company's Dallas office, announced today the strategic hiring of high-profile commercial real estate industry veterans Chuck Sellers, Dale Ray and Grant Sumner in Dallas.

Effective immediately, Sellers, Ray and Sumner become Principals of Avison Young and will launch and lead Avison Young's office agency leasing services throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW) region. They will focus on negotiating office leasing transactions on behalf of investors, developers, landlords and tenants across the DFW metro area. They will also assist with third-party leasing and property management assignments and the recruitment of office leasing teammates. Sellers, Ray and Sumner most recently served as Principals with Peloton Commercial Real Estate in Dallas.

"We couldn't be more excited to add these three well-respected, senior-level office agency leasing professionals to our team," comments Langston. "One of our primary goals here in Avison Young's Dallas office was to build out our agency leasing team, and we've done that in a monumental way by welcoming Chuck, Dale and Grant to our firm. They will be 'game-changers' for us here in Dallas and throughout Texas, especially with all of the consolidation taking place in the office market. There is keen interest in the industry from our clients and prospects to work with a client-centric commercial real estate company that is privately held and led by its Principals."

Langston continues: "Furthermore, the hiring of this team marks a huge step forward not only for our Dallas office, but for our operations in the entire state of Texas as we launch our agency leasing services in one of the most vibrant office markets in the country. We will also continue to work with our partners in Austin, Houston and San Antonio to expand our agency leasing services in those markets."

Sellers, Ray and Sumner bring more than 70 years of combined commercial real estate experience to Avison Young. During their tenure at Peloton, they completed several major office lease transactions, including Epsilon's lease of 253,000 sf in Las Colinas, and Conifer's 196,000-sf lease on behalf of Duke Realty Corporation. They also negotiated many notable leases on behalf of such clients as: American Home Mortgage (186,000 sf), MedSynergies (146,803 sf), Toyota (122,000 sf), Children's Hospital (110,000 sf), Southwest Airlines (104,528 sf), Med Assets (101,241 sf), Kosmos Energy (100,445 sf), PepsiCo (93,888 sf), and the University of Texas-Dallas (90,000 sf).

In addition, Sellers, Ray and Sumner have developed key relationships with such major firms as GE, Piedmont, Capital Commercial, Duke Realty Corporation, Champion Partners, Highland Capital, Goddard, Catlyn Capital Group, Van Trust, Hudson Advisors, CNL Financial Group, Regis and TIER REIT.

"Dale, Grant and I are humbled and excited to be continuing our partnership at Avison Young," states Sellers. "Avison Young's core value of putting the client first is aligned with our own. The three of us have formed an effective partnership over the years, and now we will have a much broader range of resources available to serve office clients on a local, national and international basis. We're looking forward to building a strong agency leasing team in Dallas and throughout Texas as Avison Young continues with its aggressive ongoing global expansion program."

"We are thrilled to be bringing our collective experience to Avison Young. The firm's culture of collaboration and its Principal-led structure and entrepreneurial spirit will provide a seamless framework to execute solutions for our clients' objectives," notes Ray. "Chuck, Grant and I jumped at the chance to expand our business by capitalizing on Avison Young's powerful brand, dedication to innovation, and network of top real estate professionals in the U.S., Canada and Europe. I look forward to working with my new colleagues across the company to better serve our clients in this highly dynamic and rapidly changing office real estate sector."

Avison Young opened its Dallas office in 2011, following up on the launch of the company's first Texas office in Houston in 2010. Avison Young opened its Austin office in 2014 and, earlier this month, began offering project management services in San Antonio as a result of Avison Young's acquisition of Pennsylvania-based Remington Group, Inc., which has personnel in Philadelphia and San Antonio.

"We're excited to be taking this next step in our careers," adds Sumner. "We've formed a close partnership and now, it will become even stronger as we collaborate on many new projects and recruit top talent to our agency leasing team. We look forward to sharing our knowledge of the Dallas office market with clients and with our new colleagues in the rest of Texas."
