SHANGHAI, Jan. 21, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Always with an eye for the main chance to improve the opportunities and facilities for their exhibitors, the China (Shanghai) International Boat Show have signed an agreement with the new and first proper marina on the Huangpu River, North Bund, to be the site for on-the-water displays of the 19th China (Shanghai) International Boat Show.

As a brand new marina, care has been taken to the construction of the facility so as to ensure that everything will be ready for the Boat Show in April.
While there are many boat shows around the world that are either totally on land or completely on water, one of the criticisms that has been leveled at the China (Shanghai) International Boat Show (CIBS) in past years is the lack of any decent on-the-water show berths. Many would think this is an unfair criticism as there are a lot of similar shows that are either all wet or all dry. However in 2014, the 19th edition of the Shanghai Show is going to rectify the situation with style.
With its new natural setting in 2014, CIBS will be done and gone with a marina environment that provides a quality backdrop to the most luxurious yachts that builders choose to exhibit on water.

Like the bull's eye on a target, the brand new marina sits right in the middle of the developing North Bund area where the new flagship commercial district is located. As the two exhibiting sites are located on the banks of the Huang Pu Jiang, water transport will be convenient while also giving a view of the heart of Shanghai en route.
A few years ago, CIBS' exhibitions were held in relatively smaller exhibition halls in Nanjing Road. Now, the show has moved to a modern, pillar-less exhibition hall. The show has introduced and supported a set of awards -- The Asian Marine & Boating Awards -- that the industry has acknowledged as genuine and truly worth winning. CIBS has also displayed its social consciousness by giving full support to China's largest inland Corinthian regatta, the CIBS Charity Regatta, which helps the less fortunate children in China. All these initiatives have helped raise the profile of the Shanghai Show.
Over the last few years, the China (Shanghai) International Boat Show has taken big steps forward. The number of visitors has climbed up to 34,822 in 2013 and has evolved into the number one best known professional boat show in China.
