NEW YORK, Nov. 6, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- The organizers of the upcoming "Citi Cricket All-Stars" have finalized an all-star lineup of sponsors. Top tier sponsors are Citi, MasterCard, PepsiCo, State Farm, Azur Global, Sling TV and Oxigen. Additional sponsors include Lycamobile, Etihad and Uber.
"Citi Cricket All-Stars" is headlined by cricket legends Sachin Tendulkar and Shane Warne who have handpicked a star-studded lineup of 30 of the most renowned cricket players from around the world to play in a three-game series in New York City, Houston and Los Angeles.
The first match of the series is on November 7 at Citi Field in New York City, followed on November 11 at Minute Maid Park in Houston, and culminating on November 14 at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles. The format will be T20, a much shorter and boisterous form of cricket with the games taking around three hours.
In addition to its title sponsorship of the series, Citi is the host of the first "Citi Cricket All-Stars" event at CitiField, and will also name and present the "Citi Cricket All-Stars Cup" to the winners of the series. With a presence in more than 160 countries, the series is an opportunity to unite the world's leading global bank with one of the most internationally recognized sports in the world.
"For more than 200 years, Citi has helped those who enable progress in their countries, cities and communities. That is why it makes perfect sense for us to support a sport with such a rich tradition and a promising future," said Dermot Boden, Chief Brand Officer at Citi. "We are proud to be the inaugural sponsor of the 'Citi Cricket All-Stars Cup' and to join Sachin, Shane and their teams to spread the popularity and growth of cricket into the United States."
As a sponsor of "Citi Cricket All-Stars," MasterCard will provide its cardholders exclusive access to event tickets and Priceless experiences throughout the series. A few lucky cardholders will even have the opportunity to meet some of the players.
"We are so excited as a company to be part of this series," said Raja Rajamannar, MasterCard Chief Marketing Officer. "Cricket is second only to soccer in popularity as a team sport globally. This truly will be a priceless experience for fans."
Pepsi will host fans at the Pepsi pre-game lounge at CitiField, and upon entering each stadium, fans will receive 4/6 cards to join in on the action. Pepsi also will sponsor in-game trivia during the broadcast and Gatorade will be on the sidelines fueling the All-Star players throughout each game.
"PepsiCo is proud to support the sport of cricket and the first-ever All-Star Series," said Seth Kaufman, Chief Marketing Officer, PepsiCo North America Beverages. "We look forward to being a part of one of the world's most popular sporting events and watching the best players from around the world compete at the inaugural event."
State Farm is the official sponsor of the youth Cricket Clinics that will take place at Citi Field in NYC on November 6, and at Minute Maid Park in Houston on November 10. Young players from the local NYC and Houston areas will have a chance to bat and bowl alongside some of the best cricketers in the world.
State Farm will also be on-site two hours to the tournament on match day at each location with a fan activation. Fans will have an opportunity to meet their local state farm agents, pick up fun giveaways and participate in fast bowling. Fans may also get a chance to be on the field and participate in the catch and win game to win an autographed cricket jersey.
"This partnership with the Cricket All-Stars is a natural fit, given our emphasis on innovation, excellence, raising the bar, and above all, a spirit of playing to win," said Azur's founder and CEO, Ranghan Venkatraman. "From early on, Azur Global has distinguished itself by disrupting the status quo in our business resulting in impactful, measurable results. It's the perfect partnership of excellence."
The sponsorship will focus on Azur Global's Foundation and its efforts to eradicate autism around the world. "We want people to know that an autism-free world is possible," added Ranghan. "We want to 'ignite' and 'light up' the minds of those affected with autism, and give them the wings to soar and set themselves free. Supporting the Cricket All-Stars will help us get this message across to millions of passionate cricket fans worldwide. When these great cricketers come together in baseball stadiums across America and light up the pitch, we'll be right there alongside them, lighting up lives."
Sling TV's sponsorship of the Cricket All-Stars stems from the brand's support of the game and commitment to entertainment that connects viewers with their culture, including cricket. Fans attending the Cricket All-Stars matches can visit the Sling International booth to learn more about the product and snap a picture in the photo booth. "Our goal is to bring the excitement of cricket to fans living in the U.S., and we wanted to show our support for this rare opportunity to see some of the game's greatest players live and in-person," said Chris Kuelling, senior vice president of International Programming for Sling TV.
